Weekend Wrap-up

Posted on Dec 12 , 2010 in Blog

What a great week-end. Where to begin.

First up, Mico came home from Bible College and shared with the Youth on Friday night his experiences. God has done, and is doing a marvelous work in this young man. There is God annointed confidence in him. I loved how often he would quote scripture while he was speaking to the youth and would turn to his Bible to find a favourite verse to share. He’s here till the end of January before heading back for the second semester. (more…)

This weekend started off with prayer on Saturday morning. As always it was an amazing time of meeting with the Lord and it’s always a time of learning what God would like us to do and, off course, a time to seek the Lord on behalf of the body. (more…)

Thanks to those who quickly responded to the needs of the Hand Up to Hope ministry; it’s much appreciated! There will be 2 containers at church on Sunday…one for Bruce and Lauren and one for the street ministry. Keep the insert from last week’s bulletin on your fridge as a reminder to add some grocery items for these two ministries to your weekly list; this is an opportunity for the body of Christ to minister to one another. This Week at Calvary

Posted on Sep 03 , 2010 in Blog

It’s been a busy couple weeks finishing up holidays and being back at work this week! We’re looking forward to going into a new year of ministry and pray that the Lord would lead you to be involved in an area of ministry at Calvary. The Lord has been impressing upon me the importance of prayer and the need to build relationship within our church body. Reach out to someone this week and let them know that you are thinking of them, and praying for them…..go for coffee with someone and build relationships ourside of Sunday mornings! Plan to get involved in the various opportunities to connect with one another….Backyard BBQ, Islandson fundraiser banquet, Thursday’s Home Group, Saturday Morning prayer. (more…)

Thank You Lord for keeping everyone safe over the summer. (more…)

Glenda and I are continuing to enjoy our trip through the Kootenay’s. We sure live in a beautiful part of the world. This morning we are driving out to Ainsworth Hot Springs, about an hour north of Nelson. We’re staying in Nelson until Monday at the Whitehouse Backpackers Lodge, a quaint (cheap) old house that has been turned into a hostel. (more…)
